Witt Lining Systems’ PVC Liner Keeps Engine Company Running

Claremore, OK (PRWEB) February 13, 2012

In 1996, a Wisconsin based engine manufacturer chose a flexible PVC liner from Witt Lining Systems to line the reservoir part of their cooling tower. After 15 years of continuous service and regular abuse, the 1/8 thick PVC liner was reaching the end of its useful service life, creating the need for regular repair.

The company has plans in the next 48 – 60 months to design and erect a new cooling tower and reservoir complex. Due to production requirements and climate conditions, they needed a way to coat the concrete in the old reservoir that was fast as well as economical to keep the tower in operation until its replacement can be completed.

The aging concrete structure was built during WWII. Years of exposure to water on the inside and the Wisconsin climate on the outside had caused severe spalling, cracking to the concrete structure, and corrosion on the exposed internal steel piping. Before a new system could be installed, the old liner had to be removed and some concrete repairs made. A geotextile padding placed on the floor and part of the walls was added to protect the new liner from large cracks and irregularities. The work was postponed until Oct. due to the demands of production further complicating the project with cold and unpredictable weather. The company chose a 60 mil gauge Spectra Blue liner for the 17 x 19 x 9 deep reservoir, which was able to be lined in just 2

Article by CAS AG

KAISERSLAUTERN, GERMANY – August 2nd, 2010 – CAS AG, the leading global provider of customer management and mobility solutions for the Consumer Products industry, today announced CAS has been selected by McCormick to provide sales force automation solutions, including Retail Execution and Direct store Delivery (DSD), to its global sales operations.

According to Patrick Bergeron – IT Executive EMEA for McCormick – this initiative required McCormick to select an integrated suite of application software to help run their day-to-day sales operations and to provide global company operations with a common set of business processes. “Our goal was to find a single technology platform for McCormick’s global mobile business processes, particularly field sales and direct delivery, regardless of functional variations, languages, device form factors and user roles. The motivation behind the project goes beyond a plain technology replacement. Within the wider industry, and at McCormick in particular, DSD is considered a growth enabler,” noted Mr. Bergeron. The decision to partner with CAS follows an evaluation process supported by a cross- functional selection committee that included representatives from several countries.

“We chose CAS after carrying out an extensive evaluation of global players in the Sales Force Automation industry. Our criteria for selection covered the technology solutions available today, as well as vision, roadmap for future development, organizational culture, and the overall fit with McCormick requirements. CAS clearly met our needs,” remarked Thomas Stumpp – Project Manager at McCormick.

The CAS mobility solution will be used for call planning, customer management, mobile sales & inventory, surveys & audits as well as reporting & analytics. Integrated with McCormick’s SAP back office solution, CAS will provide a comprehensive and dynamic view of what is happening with each customer.

“We are delighted that McCormick has selected CAS as its strategic partner, and to be a key part of this global growth enabling initiative”, said Stefan Joneck, Founder of CAS. “This announcement helps to reinforce our position as the partner of choice for mobility solutions for leading global Consumer Products businesses.”
