A glass of Dupont Avec les Bons Voeux from Brasserie Dupont in Tourpes-Leuze, Belgium, on tap at Kulminator in Antwerp.

Dupont Avec les Bons Voeux or "From Dupont with Best wishes" is a 9,5% abv saison, first brewed in 1970 and since brewed for special occasions.

It poured a hazy, golden color with a white head. It had a nice, fruity, saison aroma, smelling of orange peel, yeast and spices. It had a smooth, creamy texture. The flavor started out with fruity berries, citrus and spices (cloves). The hops gave it a mild, bitter finish. Overall fairly dry, but fruity and refreshing. A great saison for all seasons!

DuPont Celebrates Worlds Largest Solar Boats Successful Global Journey Powered by the Sun

MONACO (PRWEB) May 04, 2012

The worlds largest solar-powered boat has completed the first trans-world trip with DuPont photovoltaic materials helping make it possible. DuPont is an official supplier to PlanetSolar, a 31 meter-long and 15 meter-wide catamaran covered by 537 square meters of photovoltaic solar panels that power an electric motor. The solar boat docked today in the Hercule Harbor in Monaco, for a three-day celebration of the historic 585-day trip that began on Sept. 27, 2010. The project was undertaken as a way to demonstrate that renewable energy and technology can be applied right now to achieve sustainable transportation.

The success of this undertaking proves a core belief within DuPont: science can be used to help solve the worlds most pressing challenges. We have the tools and materials available to make our planet better and more sustainable, said Simone Arizzi, Science & Technology director, DuPont, Europe, Middle East & Africa.

The photovoltaic panels used to power the boat were exposed to a harsh marine environment, day-after-day for 19 months, and needed to be highly durable. DuPont Tedlar

To learn more about the Global Marathon visit www.facebook.com/GlobalMarathon ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ELLEN KULLMAN’S REMARKS Welcome to the Global Marathon For, By and About Women in Engineering and Technology. DuPont is pleased to sponsor the 8th Global Marathon. I’m Ellen Kullman, the Chair and Chief Executive Officer for DuPont. With the world’s population now at 7 billion and projected to be 9 billion by 2050, there are challenges to feed and nourish a growing population, meet the demand for energy and water, and protect people and the environment. And I’m pleased to see the Global Marathon focusing one session on ways to ensure that enough healthy, nutritious food is available for people everywhere. At DuPont, we are working on addressing food security in a number of ways. Today, about 60% of our research & development budget is invested in addressing this challenge. And women, well, we’re taking the lead. Adriana Camargo, a food scientist with our Solae business, is working in Malawi to increase the nutritional value of indigenous crops. With local partners, she has developed a product made of ground nuts and soya protein that significantly enhances the nutrition of calories consumed by local community members. Your session will discuss energy, as well. By 2035, global demand for energy will

DuPont Wins 2012 Sustainable Biofuels Award for Feedstock Innovation

Des Moines, IA (PRWEB) March 15, 2012

DuPont has won the 2012 Sustainable Biofuels Award in the Sustainable Feedstock Innovation Category for its Stover Harvest Collection Project. This is a comprehensive research and scale-up project for DuPont Industrial Biosciences that significantly advances the cellulosic ethanol industry toward commercialization and advances DuPonts efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

DuPont received the award at the World Biofuels Markets 2012 Congress, Europes largest conference and exhibition focused on biofuels. The awards are designed to recognize innovation in the development of sustainable and renewable fuels.

The Stover Harvest Collection Project is a highly collaborative endeavor, involving experts in the field of agronomy from DuPonts Pioneer Hi-Bred business and Iowa State University working in conjunction with custom harvest equipment manufacturers and more than 50 local farmers. The project provides key knowledge on the sustainable collection, transport and storage of corn stover for conversion to biofuel. Going into its third year, the project is expanding its reach in 2012 with a goal of involving up to 150 farmers and collecting biomass that will be used in its planned biorefinery in Nevada, Iowa.

It is an honor to receive the 2012 Sustainable Biofuels Award for our Stover Harvest Collection Project, said James C. Collins, president of DuPont Industrial Biosciences. We recognize that a reliable, sustainable source of biomass is critical to the success of advanced biofuels. Our collaborative approach involving growers, researchers, environmental organizations and government ensures well be able to meet the needs of the evolving market sustainably while creating new opportunities for rural America.

As a company, DuPont has identified specific global trends, driven by world population growth, that present new challenges and exciting business opportunities: feeding the world, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and protecting people and the environment. DuPont is committed to applying market-driven science to create innovation that address these global challenges, and key amongst these solutions is enabling the deployment of commercial scale advanced biofuels.

We had thousands of nominations from around the world and across the entire biofuels value chain, said Claire Poole, event director for Green Power Conferences, the organizer of the awards and conference. The winning companies demonstrated a layer of achievement and promise above their peers that bodes well for themselves as well as the industry.

The 2012 Sustainable Biofuels Awards were judged by an elite panel of independent industry experts, including Suzanne Hunt, senior advisor, Carbon War Room; Rob Vierhout, secretary general, ePURE; Plinio Nastari, president, Datagro; Jim Lane, editor, Biofuels Digest; Geng Anli, president, BioEnergy Society of Singapore; and Lola U

DuPont Solar Technology Helps Power a Sustainable City

www2.dupont.com Title: City of Science, City of Hope While our world holds many high hopes for solar energy, comprehensive city-sized applications remain few and far between. Masdar, Abu Dhabi’s stunning new sustainable development, is a living laboratory dedicated to proving the viability of green technologies at a citywide level. The city looked to Suntech to provide this photovoltaic technology. When it came to manufacturing the thousands of panels required for the landmark project, Suntech turned to DuPont to deliver a number of crucial components to ensure maximum efficiency and reliability. This collaboration is already yielding results—Masdar is currently consuming only 40% of the energy they are generating. NOURA AL DHAHERI PHD STUDENT, MASDAR INSTITUTE After having a son, I began to be more concerned about his future. The way we live now, burning the fossil fuel, we need to step up and do something about it. TITLE ABU DHABI MAIN TITLE CITY OF SCIENCE, CITY OF HOPE ALAN FROST DIRECTOR, MASDAR CITY Masdar, for me, is like no other project in the world. The idea of the city itself was to be carbon neutral. The architecture is based on all Arabic cities. The narrow streets are very important to keep out the sun during the day. At the moment, we’re testing a personal rapid transport—that’s a driverless electric vehicle and it’s powered from our solar farm.
